After a few extremely tough years with physical and mental health difficulties, I've decided it's time to take my life back at the same time as doing one of my favourite things in life: helping others who need it the most by doing something that would've been impossible for me to do a couple of years ago...running a marathon!
The charity is called Street Child, they believe that every child deserves the right to safety and to be empowered through education. Working in some of the poorest areas in the world, they strive to ensure that every child has the chance to go to school and learn. They protect, educate and empower children and families.
I've also set myself the fantastic target of raising £1000 (aim high, eh?)
Just to let you know what any donation can do:
£10 can provide a school uniform
£30 can send a child to primary school for a year.
£100 can provide textbooks for a whole classroom of children in a rural school.
£250 can provide a mother with a business grant and training so they can afford to send their children to school
£500 can fund training for 10 teachers and raise teaching standards
£1000 can provide all the necessary classroom furniture and resources for a village school
£2000+ Funds the construction of a first-ever temporary class-room or mini-’school’ in a rural village. It also gives us time to start work on a permanent structure which can take up to 3 years to build.
Any money donated before 15th February will be matched also. If you put in £5, they will match it. So get in quick :D
Thank you in advance for your generosity, whether that just be sharing this link or donating money, it really means a lot!
